Gears of War Reloaded: What PC Specs Do You Need to Run the Game?
The Locust are back for the first time (again), but is your computer ready to saw its way through the horde?News
Rev up your chainsaw bayonet and get ready to tear through swarms of Locust because the original Gears of War is back. Arriving on August 26th, Gears of War: Reloaded puts you back in control of Marcus Fenix as the Locust swarm threatens to eradicate humanity once and for all. So grab your guns and get to exterminating.

But, of course, a remaster means new and improved graphics. And while the Steam store listing states that “the game has been optimized for the PC experience,” you might still be wondering:
Can My Computer Run Gears of War: Reloaded?
Almost certainly.
Minimum Specs
- Processor: AMD Ryzen 3 (Quad-Core) or Intel Core i5 (Skylake)
- Memory: 8 GB RAM
- Graphics: AMD Radeon RX 480 / RX 5300 or Nvidia GeForce GTX 1650 / 1050 Ti or Intel Arc A380
- DirectX: Version 12
- Network: Broadband Internet connection
- Storage: 70 GB available space
Gears of War: Reloaded is, for all its updated graphics, surprisingly easy to run. The July 2025 Steam Hardware Survey put the GTX 1650 as the fourth most popular card on the platform which means, statistically, you’re probably ready to run GoW Reloaded. Especially as a four-core CPU is all but guaranteed in any modern PC.
Recommended Specs
- Processor: AMD Ryzen 5 (Six-Cores) or Intel Core i5 Coffee Lake
- Memory: 8 GB RAM
- Graphics: AMD Radeon RX 5600 or NVIDIA GeForce GTX 1070 / GTX 1660 Ti / RTX 2070
- DirectX: Version 12
- Network: Broadband Internet connection
- Storage: 70 GB available space
Ever so slightly more difficult to run, the recommended specs dial up the requirements to the still-incredibly-common 6+ core CPU. And while the GTX 1070 isn’t in the top 10 GPUs on the Steam Hardware Survey, two of its follow-ups, the RTX 3070 and 4070 are. If you’ve built your computer in the past decade and have a GPU, GoW: Reloaded will almost certainly run on it.
