upgrade excuse
by Roger Lee Posted on: 2/12/2024Build Description
ok, i honestly rebuilt this desktop pc in a sweeping upgrade simply because i wanted to. but for meaningless self-justification that exists and/or matters only in my head, the justification for doing this upgrade (or "excuse") is that i recently was gifted an ultrawide monitor. different resolution, different hardware demands, right? i wanted a few key upgrades in some critical areas such as the ability to overclock ddr5 ram at higher frequencies. anyway after all these years, the game im still playing the most is CS2.
Favorite Feature
while my motivation was specifically about ddr5 overclocking, most of my actual time and attention while building was devoted to setting up fairly complicated cooling systems. two different radiators, one cooling the cpu with the corsair aio and a second for the graphics card. very specifically, one thing i like is the temperature displayed directly on the led block of the corsair aio. i know i could always use a pc application to check this value, but i find it more convenient just to look directly at the feedback given on the cpu block.
